The BLOC approach

Good spaces begin with a good process.

The construction and interiors journey needs clear decisions as well as good materials. Here’s the working approach we use to frame a project conversation; your signed scope confirms the commitments.

01

Discovery

Begin with the life behind the space.

Your priorities, location, site type, preferences and practical constraints form the brief.

You bring

A location, available plans or photos, your priorities and a timeframe.

We clarify

The type of work, initial feasibility and the next information needed.

02

Site review

Let the site inform the plan.

Measurements, existing conditions, access and service requirements make the brief more concrete.

You bring

Site access and any available building or society information.

We clarify

What can be measured, what needs specialist review and what may affect the scope.

03

Design & selections

Make connected decisions.

Resolve layouts and material directions together, with technical coordination where needed.

You review

Layouts, finishes, furniture or appliance decisions and responsibilities.

We clarify

Selection schedules and the decisions needed before procurement or fabrication.

04

Scope & agreement

Know what the proposal includes.

A written scope should connect quantities, materials, exclusions, commercial terms and the programme.

You review

The BOQ or scope, payment stages, assumptions and exclusions.

We clarify

How changes, dependencies, approvals and handover responsibilities will be handled.

05

Execution

Follow a coordinated sequence.

Site protection, procurement and trade coordination turn an agreed direction into physical work.

You review

Progress at the communication and review points agreed for your project.

We clarify

Decisions required, changes discovered and any effect on the programme.

06

Quality review

Walk through the details.

Relevant checks and finish reviews help identify and record issues before completion.

You review

Dimensions, operation, finish condition and the documented snag list.

We clarify

What needs correction, who is responsible and the agreed closure process.

07

Handover

Complete the conversation properly.

A final walkthrough, scope-specific documents and applicable product information support the move into everyday use.

You receive

The handover information and documents included in your agreement.

We clarify

Any outstanding items and the agreed route for reporting concerns.

All questions & answers
How long does a construction or interior project take?

There is no universal timeline. A programme depends on scope, approvals, site readiness, design decisions, procurement, specialist work and access. The practical sequence and dependencies should be agreed for your particular project.

Can you work in an occupied home?

Occupied-home renovation needs a specific discussion about protection, working hours, dust, service shutdowns and temporary arrangements. Feasibility and phasing are confirmed after reviewing the site and the work required.

Do structural changes need professional review?

Changes that may affect structure require assessment by appropriately qualified professionals and any relevant permissions. A visual concept or online 3D scene is not a structural design or approval.
